As you are aware we are in the process of opening Upper Darby's first charter school and we need your support. The charter school will be called Early Years Community Charter School and will focus on reading, writing, & math. I have learned that our children are not grasping all they can in the schools they are attending. Most of the schools in upper darby have not met AYP's nor the students passing their PSSA's. Some of the students we have are stuggling in reading and math and we are finding out that the early years of education grades K to 3rd are so important. It is important that our children are at or above 4th grade levels before they enter into 4th grade and we are finding out that is not the case.
With our new school we will have class size to 15 with a 1 teacher, 1 parent and 1 paraprofessional in each classroom, that is a ratio of 1 to 5. Perfect for making sure our students excel in all subjects.
